Fabulous stay in this traditional Madrid favourite. Lovely rooms, fine bathrooms. Enjoyed the afternoon tea and drinks in their bar and lounge.
Probably too much furniture in the room. I’d remove one of the tables at least. Other than that great.
Overall the Wellington is a beautiful hotel with elegant sumptuous decor. However, the best part of this hotel is its staff, who goes truly above and beyond to assist their clients and make them feel at home.
Not super fond of the moisturiser/soap offered in-room, it dries my skin.

Location is a big bonus for this traditional hotel. Walkable to many of the main sights in Madrid and excellent for wandering the Retiro Park. The VIP lounge was handy to have for snacks and coffee and of course a lovely terrace. Juan at the VIP club was excellent and very helpful!
I did expect a larger room with more comfortable beds and perhaps a pillow menu. I requested a different pillow late at night and had to call twice before I actually got one. Air conditioning was also a problem since it would not cool as much as we needed. Had a repair guy in our room at 2.00 am in the morning checking the vent and changing something which helped a little and had to request a fan....Read more
The breakfast buffet was excellent as was the service if you requested a la carte. The hotel has a great location, excellent staff and we were very happy to stay there.

Nice, clean, beautiful, very nice service.
First, breakfast. We had to wait for the available tables together with other hotel guests for 15 minutes. Not much, but honestly, this is bizarre. The hotel can’t manage the peak season, that’s unfortunate. The buffet was so bad, for a 5-star hotel it was just horrible. Scramble had a blue-ish colour, it was not appealing at all.
