Pros (+) The location was fine. The breakfast was great. The lobby was decorated for Christmas and was beautiful. The room was wonderfully decorated.

Pros (+) When you walk in, you are completely engulfed in Victorian everything, including the elevator. The staff is personable and spends time with guests, letting everyone know what to do and where to go. The breakfast is well appointed with many choices. Tea, sherry, and cookies is such a delightful bonus. This is an affordable gem in downtown San Francisco.
Cons (-) This is a funny observation. In our bathroom was a vintage push-button telephone-from the 70s. I would find phones that match the decor. Like I said, not a criticism, just something fun that came across my thinking.

Pros (+) The staff went above and beyond to make my 95 yo mother feel comfortable, offering her tea, giving her a little surprise Christmas gift. We love the old San Francisco vibe...rooms are quaint and large, and breakfast was plentiful. The holiday decorations had just gone up and they're wonderfully over the top! :)

Pros (+) it's a step back in time. beautifully preserved hotel with modern amenities. we have enjoyed the breakfast, friendly staffs and excellent service to make our stay comfortable. the complimentary city car to send us to where we want to go in the city was a very nice surprise!

Pros (+) We were pleasantly surprised It was very clean and surprisingly for being so old did not smell musty or stale at all. It was very cozy and comfotable, including the bed
Cons (-) The only things that were slightly annoying was the need to be buzzed in. I understand it helps with safety, but there were a few times we had to wait about 5mins for someone to buzz the front door open. And there was no air conditioning in the room. The rooms stayed quite warm when we stayed in November, it has a fan that helps but I could see it being an issue in summertime

Pros (+) The hotel has so much character in decor that for sure caught our eyes right from the first minute we arrived. The location was a bit far from the town but it was safe and has no presence of homeless people. Breakfast was nice.
