Absolutely horrible customer service. They did not honour our reservation or give us a car. We were kicked out of the rental agency even though we got charged the full cost of the rental. Never renting with Hertz ever again.

Great experience throughout

The original rental was supposed to be picked up from the airport and you changed it on me to downtown. I did not realize that until I arrived in Vancouver. You had put that on the original document, but I did not see that initially.

I was very upset with the rental agency. My husband went to go pick-up the car. First it was the wrong place. So they sent a car to pick him up and take him to the right place. Then upon arrival at the other location, they tell my husband that they need to first have him get in touch with ICBC to show his driving records before they can rent him the car? I have NEVER come across this once in all the car rentals I’ve had over the years. So after he proves to them that he’s a good driver, then they take a $1,000 deposit? We only had the vehicle for 5 days? Usually at other rental agencies the deposit has been no more than around $300-$500 max. So I think there was some issues there as well. We finally got the car. In all fairness the car itself was great. We got a Toyota Corolla. Very clean and it was great on the trip. Very comfortable and great on gas. The one thing I’ll say is this, they tried to make things better, but when you have a child and you’re ready to go and all you want is to get the car and get going, to have a delay for over an hour is not good. Things aren’t being done on the scale of a larger car rental agency and it’s very obvious. They need to be more organized and the fact that they don’t mention the ICBC check on their website makes me think they don’t want the customer to know about it, since it would result in going elsewhere On a scale of 1-10, the car itself was a 10 the experience was a 2 . I will take my business elsewhere next time.

We réserve for car in BC from Quebec and and the end of contract small write was in paid in US dollars!!!! This is poor and not fair practice from kayak

The location is very convenient and I appreciated being able to leave the car in their parking lot to pick up after our dinner and show; it saved me the hassle of having to find a parking spot and paying for it. We were also given an upgrade from compact to an SUV. I’m indifferent about this upgrade as I purposely chose a compact size so it would be easier to park. However, I recognize that we were give a hybrid SUV with many features and the car was nice to drive. I’m sure drivers with better parking skills would appreciate this upgrade if they were given the option.

I got problem when picking the car. it rumbles seems chassis issue from bottom. I immediately went back and talk to avis representative. he checked and drove for 2min and back confirmed issue, he immediately replaced a new honda odyssey van for me. the honda odyssey was super clean, quiet, new(1K+ miles). though I wasted some time due to this incident because I was in a hurry to drive to airport, I am very happy with the customer service, he made me feels very comfortable and in warm hand.

Incredibly busy at pickup but friendly, maybe arrive early . Dismissive when returning the car.

Booked through third party site for more expensive price than previous summer but pickup and after hours drop off were easy. Car was in good condition, very comfortable. Served our family well for our last six weeks in Vancouver.
