Customer service was excellent, drop off and pick up process was very easy and price was good compared to other locations Car was very dirty when we got it, even though the sign said it was cleaned for covid. Chocolate on several seats, large pieces of food on the floor. It didn't look like it had been cleaned at all. We spent 30 minutes giving it a thorough clean before our trip. But besides this, I still gave them an excellent rating due to the pros listed above.

The staff was very friendly and pick up and drop off we very easy.

We originally requested a Jetta or similar size vehicle because we were going out of state and were trying to save on fuel costs. When we arrived to pick the vehicle up, we were told nothing of that size was available and we were offered a Nissan SUV or a pickup truck as an "Upgrade". If you are not going to have the requested vehicle , you should inform the customer so they can decide if the "upgrade" is worth it beforehand and have an opportunity to check with another location or another company. It was not a bad experience, just would have appreciated a choice.

We really appreciated the staff at budget (James) we arrived 5 hours early for our appointed pick-up time and James found a rental for us although they were all spoken for at the time. This saved us a 5 hour wait. We will most definitely be back for rentals and recommend Budget to our connections.

I never received a receipt. I asked for one thirty seconds after I dropped it off, and was told it was too late, that I would receive it by email. I never have gotten it. Pretty miffed.

When I picked up the car, the employee told me it had half a tank of gas, which it did. However he put on the rental agreement that it was full. I did not notice this until after they charged me an additional $47.00 for gas. It had more gas when I dropped it off than when I picked it up.

Do not use Hertz in Fort Wayne anymore! There was no staff member there at pickup. Myself and 5 other renters were waiting outside and no staff member ever arrived. I called a "nearby" hertz (60 miles away) to ask if they could find out what's going on at our location. After a few minutes making phone calls, the nearby staff member came back on the line and said that no one was working and that no one would be coming. We were all out of luck. I needed my rental car to pick my mother up from the airport to see my dying grandmother in the hospital. When trying to cancel my reservation, after almost 1 hour on hold, the hertz employee told me that they had no ability to cancel it since it was booked through a 3rd party. That's after spending HOURS on the phone trying to navigate automated phone tree systems with priceline, the 3rd party booking agent, and hertz. These automated systems would literally trade me back and forth with each other. I was finally able to cancel my reservation through the hertz website just after a hertz phone center employee ARGUED with me that I was dumb and they could not adjust or cancel my booking. When I finally was able to cancel it, I was charged a $50 cancelation fee. I am outraged by this fee, but who on earth would I even begin to talk to to try and get my cancelation fee refunded? I will never use hertz again and tell everyone I meet to avoid them like the plague. My grandmother is now dead, by the way. Thanks hertz, for making those last precious moments with her full of frustration and outrage.
